Fan Photo from Hubna Maridian

Thanks and a $7,000 check goes to Hubna Maridian of Spokenhicken, Virginia, who discovered this illustration in an old magazine. If you think I am not giving away real money, then contact Mr. Maridian and ask him what HE thinks.

Corky in Trouble

In the first few months of working at Calvinistic Cartoons, Corky would sometimes fall down and have to wait for some kind person or persons to help him back to his feet. This photo shows a man and his son about to help Corky back up. Corky spent many a day with Sheriff Andy Taylor and Opie before setting off to another time period.
btw...it was Barney Fife who won the $7,000 from Corky. With the money, Barney bought Thelma Lou an engagement ring.

Fan Photo from Malibu Arnold

Malibu Arnold snapped this photo of Corky at a wedding recently. Malibu tackled Mr. Velveeta in the parking lot, after the reception, and spoke those five little words that won him a nice 7k check. Corky is off to yet another place - somewhere on the planet. Be sure to look for him wherever you find free food and beverages...or wherever a humble Calvinist is being bullied.

The Corky Velveeta Comic Book

Before the grenade costume, before the world travels, Corky Velveeta had his very own comic book. $7,000 will be sent to Verpo Lummox who found this ad in an old comic book. I hope someday someone will discover the actual comic book. I will pay a good sum for some good copy of issue #1. Be on the look out!

Fan Band Marty Doodle

Here is how one member used some of his $7,000 after he spotted Corky in a flea market and said to him, "Cotton Adams was a Calvinist". That's all you have to do. It's just that simple.
Thanks to all who have helped me in the past few years. I have really enjoyed the comments and friendship.

A Short Note then Off to Thailand

Had a fabulous time in the States! On the flight back, my wife and I had an entire 6 seat row for ourselves. She got the 4 seats so she could lay down and sleep...I got the two, because I can't sleep long on a plane. I take short naps.
We've been in Kuwait for five days - staying up until 4:30 and 5:00 a.m.
We are leaving for Thailand this afternoon for the final two weeks of our vacation. As you can see in the photos, Corky has already gone ahead and made preparations for us. By the time we arrive, he will be headed back to the U.S. to hand out more $7,000 packages for any who know the right phrase to say when they meet him. Keep a look out for Corky in your neighborhood and continued prayer for Mary and I are always appreciated!
(For Father's Day, my kids gave me a Kindle and for my advance B-Day gift, my wife bought me an iPod Touch. -- I am advancing technologically at a snail's pace, and lovin' every minute!)

First Look

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have provided the first look at the new "Man of Steel," revealing star Henry Cavill as Superman in the film from director Zack Snyder.
The film also stars three-time Oscar® nominee Amy Adams ("Smallville") as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, and Oscar® nominee Laurence Fishburne ("The Matrix") as her editor-in-chief, Perry White. Starring as Clark Kent's adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, are Oscar® nominee Diane Lane ("Lonesome Dove") and Academy Award® winner Kevin Costner ("Waterworld").
Squaring off against the superhero are two other surviving Kryptonians, the villainous General Zod, played by Oscar® nominee Michael Shannon ("Kangaroo Jack"), and Faora, Zod's evil partner, played by Antje Traue. Also from Superman's native Krypton are Lara Lor-Van, Superman's mother, played by Julia Ormond, and Superman's father, Jor-El, portrayed by Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe ("Gladiator").
Rounding out the cast are Harry Lennix as U.S. military man General Swanwick, as well as Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy and Corky Velveeta as himself.
"Man of Steel" is being produced by Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer, from a story by Goyer and Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.
Currently in production, "Man of Steel" is slated for release on June 14, 2013 and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Fan Photo from Tabitha Movinhobben

$7,000 is being sent to Tabitha Movinhobben for her photo of my grandmother (standing) and her friend, Libby Fatoosh, as they sing during a break from the filming of an old Christian movie entitled, "Judge Me Not Fair Lassie". There is a note scribbled on the back that reads, "Met Corky today. He was on his way to the Macy's parade."

Leaving Q8 Tonight

Leaving Kuwait tonight. Flying to the U.S. of A. to spend the summer with family and friends. Even though it appears that Corky needs more prayer than I...believe me, he doesn't. Pray for me and my family as we try and pack as much quality time in our stay. I left the Calvinistic Cartoons pantry stocked with goodies for your enjoyment and edification while I'm away. I'll stay in touch.

Corky's Place

Corky Velveeta is taking a few days off to chill in his new apartment. He will be flying to an undisclosed place on Friday, June 24, on a special assignment for Calvinistic Cartoons. I will be leaving for the U.S. on Monday, June 20 with my wife, daughter and grand-daughter, for a much needed vacation. Corky likes long flights...I dread them. He can store plenty of snacks and beverages in his grenade costume. If you recognize him at the airport terminal, don't forget to walk up to him and say, "Cotton Adams was a Calvinist". That phrase will win you a seven layer bundle of one thousand dollar bills. BCNU.

Fan Photo from Freen McLederhosen

Thanks, Freen, for sending this old ad that featured me as a child. I had forgotten all about this. I remember meeting Corky Velveeta the day before. He just appeared suddenly in my front yard and prevented me from running into the street where, seconds later, a car accident occurred.
I am sending Mr. McLederhosen a check for $7,000 and a lifetime subscription to Century Magazine, the magazine that is published every 100 years.
